Should the visitor so wish, it is possbile to continue on past the Myrtle Pond to explore other parts of the preserve, but many people choose instead to take advantage of the peaceful ambiance of this magical spot to spread a blanket and enjoy a picnic. If they are very still some of our wild neighbors may stop by too.
